This page “NeuroWiki:Article Naming” is the current guidelines of NeuroWiki
  • The guidelines text describes the binding operational methods and standards currently in effect on NeuroWiki;
  • Users are expected to adhere to the content described on this page;
  • The Site Owner of NeuroWiki reserve the final interpretation rights for all provisions.

General Principles

  1. Prioritize the most recognizable names that comply with official naming conventions.
  2. Article titles must remain concise and accurate, avoiding ambiguous expressions.
  3. Multilingual versions must follow cross-language coordination rules.
  4. All redirects must point to a unique main article.

Naming Guidelines for Character Articles

Priority Order

  1. The official translated name or title in the site's current language (when the official translation is as well-known as or better-known than the community translation, or when no community translation exists).
    Example: Japanese site "小鳥遊キアラ."
  2. The most well-known community translation in the site's current language (when the official translation is less well-known, but the community translation is better-known than the source language name).
    Example: Chinese site "小鸟游琪亚拉."
  3. The most well-known source language official name in the site's current language (when both the official translation and community translation are less well-known than the source language official name).
    Example: Chinese site "Neuro."
    • Special Case for Kanji Transcription (limited to Chinese and Japanese sites):
      • If a character has an official translation in Chinese or Japanese written solely in Hanzi (Kanji), the transliterated name based on the character's glyphs may be used as the official translation.
Example: Chinese site "弟月辉" (transliterated from the Japanese official translation "弟月 輝" for "Otozuki Teru").
  4. The most commonly used community nickname (if no official name exists).
    Example: English site "Vedal's mother."

Prohibited Cases

  • Using generic terms unrelated to the official name.
Example: Prohibited to use "Uncle" as the article name for "Otozuki Teru."
  • Including non-neutral evaluative terms.
Example: Prohibited to use "A better AI than Neuro" as the article name for "Evil Neuro."
  • Using abbreviations that are not widely recognized.
Example: Prohibited to use "NS" as the article name for "Neuro-sama."

Naming Guidelines for Non-Character Articles

Live Stream Records

  • Format: Stream Record/Category/Date
  • Categories:
    • Vedal987 Channel / Guest Appearance / Platform Event / Other
  • Examples:
    • [[Stream Record/Vedal987 Channel/August 15, 2023]]

Memes and Event Articles

  • Neutrality Principle
  • Use the most widely adopted name within the community.
  • Provide at least three reliable sources to demonstrate its popularity.
  • If all well-known community names lack objectivity and neutrality, use an objective and concise description as the article title.

Resolving Naming Disputes

  1. Add the {{Info/NamingDispute}} template.
  2. Initiate a 7-day community discussion.
  3. Voting requires ≥60% valid votes to pass.
  4. Administrators will implement the final naming decision based on the vote results.
