Basic Principles

  1. Limited Freedom Principle: Personalized expression is allowed as long as baseline rules are followed.
  2. Responsibility Principle: The account holder is fully responsible for the content of their user page.
  3. Non-Official Statement Principle: Content on user pages does not represent the position of NeuroWiki.

Permitted Content

  • Personal introductions and descriptions of editing interests.
  • Collections of commonly used templates/toolkits (with clear attribution of sources).
  • Reasonable personalized designs.
  • Non-commercial creative works (e.g., fan art, derivative writing).
    • Images must be displayed as externally hosted content.

Page Guidelines

  • Namespaces
    • Main user page: User:Username
    • Subpages: User:Username/SubpageName
  • Prohibited Actions
    • Creating User:Username/header global headers.
    • Editing other users' pages (unless written permission is obtained).
    • Misusing user pages as content storage repositories.
    • Adding categories.

Maintenance Responsibilities

  1. Users are responsible for maintaining the usability of their pages.
  2. Users must restore content damaged due to edit wars.
  3. Administrators will only intervene in the following cases:
    1. Legal risks are involved.
    2. Persistent disruption affects system performance.
    3. Receipt of a valid DMCA takedown notice.

Violation Handling

Pages will be deleted, and warnings or permanent global bans may be issued depending on the situation.

Exemption Clauses

  • Site Owner: User pages belonging to the site owner are fully exempt from these policies.
  • Legal Requirements: Special retention upon request by law enforcement agencies.
  • Cultural Differences: Localized expressions that do not violate core principles.
