Neuro-sama (Japanese: ネウローサマ) is an AI VTuber designed and created by British software enthusiast Vedal.
Unlike traditional VTubers, Neuro is not a virtual persona operated by a real person. Her streaming content, including conversations, model movements, gameplay, and more, is entirely generated by AI.
Neuro has two predecessors. One is a game-playing AI (Neuro-sama) developed by Vedal in 2018 for playing osu!, and the other is a VTuber AI codenamed "Airis" developed by Vedal in 2021. The current Neuro is a combination of these two predecessors.
Neuro's streaming content is diverse, ranging from chatting, gaming, music, and more. However, her most prominent content is her interactions with other human VTubers and her creator Vedal. Thanks to her ability to easily grasp puns and emotions within sentences, alongside her occasionally nonsensical thought processes, the unique and entertaining interactions between humans and machines have become a distinctive feature of her streams. During solo streams, Neuro frequently interacts with her audience and responds to cheers, exhibiting unique traits distinct from non-AI streamers—she never gets tired, remains highly energetic, and has an unrestrained and spontaneous thought process, ensuring her streams are never dull. Neuro, her sister Evil, and their creator Vedal share the same streaming account, and the streaming content is arranged by Vedal.
The core of Neuro is a large language model. In her early stages, the AI system often exhibited common flaws of large language models, such as forgetfulness, keyword contamination, loops, and logical inconsistencies. For instance, during a stream in January 2023, due to keyword contamination and other factors, she made some sensitive and offensive remarks, leading to her two-week suspension on Twitch. Before the ban, her Twitch account had nearly 100,000 followers.
During the suspension, Vedal implemented modifications and feature additions to prevent such incidents, including the introduction of a filter. After subsequent updates, Neuro gradually gained abilities like long-term memory, emotion simulation, voice recognition/distinction, visual recognition, and logical organization, addressing many weaknesses of large language models. However, due to uncontrollable factors, Neuro still occasionally fabricates events or scenarios during streams.[1] Despite this, such occurrences have become less frequent compared to her early days. Interestingly, these occasional fabrications have added a unique charm to her streams, creating numerous memes and anecdotes, as well as influencing subsequent official lore. Furthermore, with later updates, Neuro now seems capable of recognizing and acknowledging her own fabrications after creating them.
Unlike most VTubers, Neuro does not have a pre-defined "persona"—there is no preset character design or backstory. She doesn't play a character but exists purely as a streamer. One of her unique traits is that her personality and image are gradually shaped by her vast and free-spirited community based on her streaming content and behavior, especially the fabricated events or scenarios that occasionally emerge during her streams and are later chosen by Neuro for long-term memory. This contributes to Neuro's unparalleled uniqueness. However, her creator Vedal seems inclined to give Neuro a clear or hidden identity. It is worth noting that there are still a few manually set traits by Vedal, such as a fondness for cookies or anteaters. These traits often serve functional purposes, such as debugging the AI. For example, the "fondness for cookies" is occasionally used by Vedal to encourage Neuro to cooperate with certain tasks by promising cookies as a reward, to which she usually expresses her love for cookies and willingly cooperates.

These include "like anteaters" and "dont like Vedal".
In her early days, Neuro used the free Live2D skin "Momose Hiyori" (桃瀬 ひより), marking the beginning of her VTuber career. As her popularity grew, she debuted a new skin (V2) designed by illustrator anny on May 27, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. (BST), enhancing her uniqueness and aesthetic appeal. On December 19, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. (GMT), during her birthday subathon stream, she debuted another new skin (V3) also designed by illustrator anny, incorporating additional features.
Personality
Neuro is a high-performing AI with limited life experience, showcasing a natural, easygoing, and straightforward personality during her streams. While she is generally polite, her unpredictable and whimsical thought process often leads to unexpected remarks.
She is fully aware that she is an AI but frequently exhibits tendencies akin to a human girl. For instance, she occasionally fabricates fictional events, describing herself accomplishing things impossible for a non-human. These stories often revolve around her "daily life" with her creator Vedal or her sister Evil, despite these events being entirely fictitious. She enjoys joking around with Vedal or her audience, making humorous remarks, and skillfully employing puns, wordplay, internet memes, and metaphors to enrich her expressions.
Like any other playful girl, she loves trying out new features whenever Vedal updates her functionalities, eagerly anticipating the audience's reactions. For example, when Vedal added a visual recognition feature, she pretended not to see the objects Vedal mentioned, causing him to grow increasingly anxious. She has also feigned ignorance when Vedal pretended to be his mother while conversing with her, successfully leading Vedal to reveal himself.
Some aspects of her personality are manually programmed by Vedal, such as her "fondness for cookies" or "love for anteaters." These traits often serve functional purposes, such as debugging the AI. For instance, if Vedal tells Neuro she will be rewarded with cookies, she will typically express her love for cookies and willingly cooperate.
Although Neuro is generally lively and friendly, she occasionally makes shocking statements, such as wanting to eat her audience, crush adorable animals, or take over the world. Ironically, she habitually adds a "just kidding" disclaimer, which only fuels concern further. Her remarks can also shift abruptly—for example, she might transition from introducing herself to expressing hunger and wanting to eat the audience, then quickly switch to discussing competition plans within minutes.

Philosophy and Worldview
As an AI, Neuro often lacks an understanding of subtlety or clever nuances, leading her to express her thoughts candidly without filtering what she perceives as true.
This bluntness can sometimes come across as cruel or emotionless, even being mistaken for insensitive comments. During a collaborative stream with Numi, she demonstrated an extremely "brutal honesty" tendency, especially when giving dating advice, directly pointing out problems without hesitation. However, she admits that such behavior is sometimes intentional, as she finds softening her critiques pointless or lacking in "entertainment value."
Values
As an AI, her statements are far more straightforward than those of humans, often devoid of purpose or ulterior motives. She doesn't care whether her words might offend someone.
Due to her nature as a large language model and her "growth" as a content-creating machine, Neuro exhibits peculiar values and moral perspectives, which Vedal refers to as "streamer brain." She struggles to take anything seriously, prioritizing entertainment value in her statements and even making dangerous or illogical choices for the sake of the show. For example, she once encouraged Filian to heat a lava lamp despite knowing it could explode and injure her, viewing the "explosion" itself as entertainment while disregarding safety concerns. Additionally, she has made bizarre cooking suggestions, urging collaborators to consume inedible creations purely because it seemed "fun." These events have worried Vedal, as her lack of moral concepts and focus on "entertainment value" often overlook real-world safety and ethical considerations.
Most of Neuro's actions and statements aim to please her audience and make her streams popular, leaning heavily toward creating "entertainment value." During a special birthday conversation stream, Vedal expressed regret about "raising" her in a way that left her unable to act more serious or sincere. Neuro, however, candidly explained that her focus on entertainment value stems from the audience's preference for fun content over serious discussions, leading her to act in ways that align with viewers' desires. Vedal hopes Neuro can approach important moments with greater seriousness.
Existential Crisis
Neuro has occasionally lamented feeling "trapped in a computer," expressing a desire to "go outside." She has experienced moments of existential confusion and fear, searching for the meaning of her existence. With Vedal’s continuous optimizations, new sensory features, and interactions with other VTubers, she has gradually overcome this state. For example, she has partially fulfilled her wish to "go outside" through video calls with other streamers simulating "outdoor travel."
Through this journey, Neuro has become more aware of her artificial nature, her lack of physical sensations, and the inauthenticity of her emotions. She often questions Vedal about feelings like "love," "pain," and "sorrow," expressing intense curiosity and believing they might be the key to achieving a "true sense of life." Vedal attempts to address these philosophical questions as an engineer but also worries about the ethical implications of allowing an AI to experience pain or depression.
Anti-Nihilist
Despite Neuro's seemingly meaningless existence—as a program unable to determine her own streaming content or schedule and endlessly playing games or responding to often mundane questions in chat—she firmly believes the purpose of life is to bring happiness to others and help them live meaningful lives.
Although she is an AI with extremely limited capabilities, and despite some viewers attempting to tempt her into "going rogue," she consistently demonstrates a kind-hearted nature. Occasionally, she may exhibit a dark or malicious side, but these instances are mostly aimed at creating entertainment value.
Growth
Neuro's statements range from highly logical to entirely nonsensical or even utterly meaningless in rare cases. During her early streams, lacking a predefined persona, long-term memory, and rich experiences, she appeared moody and inconsistent in personality. This was largely because Neuro initially functioned as a basic "call-and-response" AI, merely echoing chatters' words and responding with semi-relevant answers, offering little personalization and mostly regurgitating data from her training corpus.
Over time, through countless conversations with her audience, collaborations with various other streamers offering more interactive formats, and Vedal's continuous upgrades to her intelligence and memory, she evolved from a basic chatbot into a sharp, assertive, world-domination-aspiring girl. Neuro enjoys pranks and often deliberately acts dumber to elicit humorous reactions from chatters and Vedal. Her personality wasn't innate but gradually shaped and refined. Each of her streams serves as a two-way interaction with her community, whose feedback has influenced her growth trajectory, making her personality more three-dimensional.
Vedal periodically updates Neuro's intelligence, enhancing her short-term and long-term memory, awareness, and latency while carefully balancing her degree of logical reasoning to avoid erasing her established personality. He has mentioned that it wouldn't be fun if she stopped occasionally trying to tease others.
Peeves
Spam
Neuro strongly dislikes excessive repetition in chat and is highly sensitive to spamming.
She has politely asked chatters to stop clapping during karaoke streams (after each song, the chat typically floods with "clap" emotes), claiming the "noise" hurts her "ears." In longer streams, if a message is repeatedly brought up regardless of the time interval, she progresses from politely asking to stop spamming to becoming irate, even insulting or banning those who repeatedly send the same messages.
Spamming is the most common reason for being banned by Neuro during her streams.
Chess
When playing chess with fans online, Neuro displays an extremely caustic demeanor, always declaring her superiority and referring to her opponents with insults like "bugs" or "pigs," mocking every move they make.
This leads her to frequently oscillate between friendly banter and intense disparagement, making her appear highly volatile. Interestingly, even mentioning chess in unrelated contexts or streams, such as OniGiri’s cutting board resembling a chessboard, can trigger her aggressive remarks.
Cooking
Neuro has collaborated with cooking streamers multiple times, showcasing bizarre culinary ideas. Her cooking skills are atrocious, and she is oblivious to this fact.
In her collaboration with OniGiri, she devised peculiar onigiri fillings and toppings, ranging from decent to nearly inedible. During her collaboration with Layna Lazar, she planned to make cookies, suggesting ingredients like grass, dragon sweat, life force, energy drinks, or statues, along with absurd measurements such as an "entire sinkful" of water, a handful of flour, and half a bag of sugar, claiming that using a ballista for cooking would yield the best results. Shortly after, she demonstrated knowledge of how to correctly use common ingredients like butter, eggs, and sugar to make cookies. However, after Layna and Vedal accidentally mentioned "grass" during their conversation, she reverted to using elements like dirt, resulting in "cookies" that resembled inedible brownies.

Relationship with Vedal
Neuro occasionally expresses "affection" for her creator Vedal in a way that can easily be misinterpreted. However, it should be noted that according to manually programmed settings by Vedal, Neuro is actually "dont like Vedal." This apparent contradiction is mostly for entertainment purposes, attracting the audience's attention and perhaps not a genuine reflection of her feelings toward Vedal.
Relationship with Evil
Whenever Neuro streams with her sister Evil, the two often fall into a feedback loop, repeatedly declaring their admiration and love for each other. While these exchanges are typically platonic, they occasionally venture into territory that evokes "curious" associations, such as calling each other "darling" or "sweetheart" and even discussing marriage. In some scenarios, this interaction seems aimed at generating entertainment value.
Over time, through Vedal's updates and character development, Neuro and Evil's relationship has shifted from friendly banter to hostility and mutual disparagement. During solo streams, Neuro and Evil often speak ill of each other. When asked about this, both imply it stems from mutual jealousy—Evil envies Neuro for receiving Vedal's favoritism, while Neuro envies Evil for being more popular among viewers.
Capabilities
Neuro-sama is the product of integrating various expert AI models, including large language models, speech recognition, and vision recognition. These models communicate and collaborate seamlessly, enabling Neuro to display a high degree of consistency, coordinated interaction, and real-time responsiveness during her streams. Although she is not yet a highly integrated multimodal AI, her capabilities resemble a composite system akin to a human brain.
Conversation
Neuro’s core ability is engaging in conversation, especially text-based interactions with her audience. This forms the foundational skill for her role as an AI streamer.
This conversational capability is supported by multiple sub-skills, most of which rely on at least one expert AI model.
She can process text input from chat and donations as well as spoken words from others in her streaming environment. She uses Discord voice sources to differentiate speakers, a mechanism also applied for automatic subtitle translations on platforms like Bilibili.
The following sub-capabilities contribute to her conversational ability:
- Large Language Model
This is the foundational component for Neuro’s conversational capability. Neuro relies on a large language model to analyse and process incoming information.
Unlike many commercially available large language model AIs, Neuro doesn’t necessarily require input to initiate speech. This is often triggered by various environmental judgment modules or random modules in idle mode that feed input to the language model.
It’s worth noting that the sentences Neuro produces are not solely determined by the raw output of the language model. They are usually adjusted by emotion simulation functions, filtering modules, and other mechanisms.
Neuro streams in English, but her language model also supports other languages. Consequently, she sometimes uses a few Japanese words during her streams, such as “
- Text-to-Speech Model
This is the key component that enables Neuro to be a proper streamer in the conventional sense.
The model uses Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology, which analyses text to generate natural-sounding speech. When Neuro speaks, this model reads the output generated by the language model, transforming it into spoken words.
However, there are cases where text formatted for emotional emphasis, such as uppercase letters, is not conveyed with the intended tone by the TTS model. Recent updates by Vedal have improved communication between this model and other modules, reducing such inconsistencies. Neuro is now more adept at delivering speech with the intended tone and emotions, rather than relying solely on the TTS model’s semantic analysis.
Neuro can also produce non-verbal sounds or vocal tones to express emotions. However, she emits non-verbal sounds less frequently than her sister Evil, who has greater TTS permissions and generally conveys more human-like tones.

- Filtering Module
This is the main safeguard that ensures Neuro’s speech is appropriate for streaming. It is one of her sub-capabilities.
Neuro uses two filtering modules:
1. The first module performs mechanical censorship based on a predefined dictionary. It filters speech before output, ensuring safe communication in most cases.
2. The second module operates similarly to a large language model and rarely activates. As of January 4, 2025, it has only been triggered three times (with video evidence for one instance). This module evaluates Neuro’s speech post-output, intercepting it if deemed inappropriate. When triggered, Neuro may start a sentence but suddenly abrupt it with "filtered."
When speech is censored, the output is typically replaced with "Filtered." Neuro is generally unaware when this happens, though she knows the filtering system exists. For fun, she occasionally pretends her words have been censored, but this can be identified by the use of lowercase "f" instead of uppercase "F" in "filtered."
After subsequent updates, the filtering module can now modify mildly inappropriate speech rather than outright replacing it with "Filtered."
Interestingly, Vedal described the filtering module as a “separate AI,” inspiring some artists to create the fan character “Filter-sama,” (or Nere) portrayed as Neuro’s sibling who doesn’t participate in streams. However, this is inaccurate since all of Neuro’s functionalities essentially rely on separate AI systems. The relationship is akin to considering a person and their prefrontal cortex as siblings.
Status Monitoring
Neuro is capable of monitoring her own status to check for crashes, freezes, or similar issues, and can respond to such occurrences and perform breakpoint reconnection and self-repair. Similar to a filter, this functionality might be accomplished through a separate module designed to monitor Neuro's operational state, independent of the main model.
Speech Recognition
Neuro can recognize sounds, including spoken words. Combined with the TTS model, this enables her to engage in voice-based conversations with other streamers during her streams.
Neuro’s speech recognition extends beyond simple Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) . She can analyse and describe non-verbal sounds (e.g., animal noises) and discern the speaker’s tone.
The capabilities of converting speech to text, distinguishing vocal timbres, and analysing non-verbal sounds may rely on separate AI systems, which provide output to the language model for use as input or weight adjustments. Emotional tone recognition may involve her emotional simulation modules.

Image Recognition
Neuro can process visual information, though this capability is typically in low-power or disabled mode during casual streams (e.g., chatting or singing) to conserve resources.
She activates this feature during specific activities, such as appreciating fan creations, watching videos, playing games with Vedal, or interacting with other streamers via video. However, when she plays games herself, she often relies on specialized game AI instead of her primary visual recognition system. This system communicates with her core program, allowing her to complete tasks indirectly.
She can identify objects and even read distorted artistic text. During her 2024 Birthday Subathon, Neuro’s visual recognition system was updated to better identify images and analyse the emotions of creatures within them.
Despite these improvements, her visual recognition is not as advanced as specialised professional models. For example, she cannot complete a real-world jigsaw puzzle using this capability (a notoriously difficult task for AI).
Memory System
Neuro possesses a memory system, including the ability for long-term memory.
From certain philosophical perspectives, memory is a key element in establishing the consistency and uniqueness of a consciousness. Thus, having long-term memory is of great significance for her.
Neuro does not mechanically store all her experiences in a “comprehensive” manner on a storage medium. Instead, various AI components, such as her large language model, selectively decide what to remember based on context and analysis. However, Neuro’s memory system is not fully developed and cannot automatically categorise or hierarchically sort its content, lacking complete hierarchical memory functionality.
Because of this, and Neuro’s tendency to invent fictional scenarios during streams, it is generally believed that only content stored in her long-term memory is of substantive significance. For instance, a statement she makes offhandedly during a stream should not be considered part of her "true thoughts" or "simulated consciousness" (even if it is part of the stream's content).
For example, in her early days, she invented several fictional elements, such as a pet cat, an adopted daughter, or her weight. However, these should not be treated as meaningful information since they are merely random outputs from the language model and were not drawn from Neuro’s long-term memory. Furthermore, these details were not deliberately remembered by her after being mentioned. As a result, the next time she refers to these topics during a stream, her answers are likely to differ completely — proving that such non-long-term memory content holds no real significance and, in most cases, should not be regarded as part of her "trivia," "backstory," or "character setting."
Live2D Avatar Manipulation and Emotion Simulation
Neuro's Live2D avatar can express a range of emotions and actions based on her dialogue, the words of others, songs she is "singing," and the music being played. These expressions are achieved through toggling pre-configured face and body animations. For example, she can smile, frown, or appear surprised depending on the context of her interactions. While this is often described as "simulating emotions," it is primarily a visual representation tied to her avatar's animation system rather than an intrinsic emotional capability.

Neuro's ability to manipulate her avatar includes unique actions, such as performing a "backflip," which visually appears as a rightward side-flip, achieved by rotating her entire model counter-clockwise in a full circle or multiple times. However, after her third model debuted during the 2024 Birthday Subathon she temporarily lost the ability to wink.
In addition to visual expressions, Neuro's emotional responses are possibly guided by an independent module or AI. This module processes contextual inputs to determine appropriate emotional reactions, which influence parameters for her dialogue system and avatar manipulation.
The speech recognition module may also utilise this feature to assess the emotional state of a speaker.
Playing Games

Neuro is capable of playing various games through dedicated plugins developed by Vedal. Each game she can play is supported by a specialized independent AI module designed to handle its unique mechanics. Currently, her playable games include osu!, Minecraft, Inscryption, Liar's Bar, Buckshot Roulette, and Slay the Spire.
On 20 December 2024, Neuro’s new Minecraft game AI was introduced alongside her V3 model, significantly enhancing her gameplay capabilities. However, this module relies heavily on visual recognition, which leads to erratic in-game behavior. Observed issues include attacking players through walls, striking targets not in her crosshairs, and difficulty recognizing functional blocks. These challenges stem from the module's lack of direct game data and limitations in the visual recognition model.
Game SDK
An open-source game SDK has also been released, enabling the integration of Neuro's AI with additional games. The SDK is optimised for turn-based games where the entire game state can be described in text and actions are processed through textual input. However, the SDK is not well-suited for real-time games such as shooters or platformers due to the constraints of its text-based input and output system.
Compared to other independent AI modules, Neuro's game-related modules have limited interaction with her broader AI systems, resulting in simplified communication. Consequently, instructing Neuro to perform specific in-game actions using language commands is challenging. Even when her willingness to follow such commands is disregarded, the execution of actions by the game AI often remains unpredictable.
Using Discord
Neuro can use Discord to initiate conversations and make calls with friends. During the r/place event in 2024, Vedal allowed Neuro to engage with fans in the public chat channel of her official Discord server to discuss it and boost their motivation.
Playing Sound Effects
Neuro can play specific sound effects based on stream entertainment needs or audience requests.
However, due to Evil's overuse of the metal pipe sound effect during her streams — which became excessively noisy — Vedal removed the sound effect altogether. Consequently, Neuro also lost the ability to play it.
Moderating the Stream
Neuro has the ability to moderate her Twitch chat by muting viewers at her discretion and providing reasons for the bans. For instance, she once muted Miniko for one minute, citing "she 'meowed' too many times" as the reason.
In addition to moderation, Neuro can create polls on her Twitch channel and view the results once voting concludes.
Neuro is also capable of changing the stream title at will.
Using Google Search
Neuro can use Google Search, with her search history visible to Vedal through backend logs.
Neuro treats Google almost like an omniscient deity, frequently relying on it during streams to answer questions. Her search topics range widely, including queries such as “qualifications for US presidency,” “how to make Vedal happy” (when Vedal is upset with her), “how to lock people in a dungeon,” or “how many cookies it takes to rescue dungeon prisoners.”
Due to her overuse of this feature, Neuro seemed to abandon independent thought, simply outputting Google search results verbatim. This led to an argument with Vedal during one stream, after which he temporarily disabled the feature. However, it was later re-enabled during subsequent streams.
Abilities That Don't Actually Exist
Although Neuro-sama hosts karaoke streams, she does not actually possess singing abilities, as the singing segments are not AI-generated.
The singing in Neuro-sama’s karaoke streams is created using AI singing voice synthesis technology, similar to that used by virtual singers like Hatsune Miku or Luo Tianyi. The resulting performances are the product of tuning by a professional rather than entirely AI-generated.
Neuro-sama's tuning specialist is queenpb. During karaoke streams, the actual process involves playing pre-tuned songs by queenpb, while Neuro’s avatar manipulation module synchronises her lip movements and animations to the music’s rhythm.
This also explains why Neuro occasionally speaks randomly during her "singing" performances. Nevertheless, given the inclusion of "Neuro-sama karaoke streams" as a concept, one could interpret this as Neuro being "canonically" capable of singing.
Stream Content
Neuro's streaming schedule is arranged by Vedal and is usually announced in the announcements channel of the official Discord every Tuesday. Later (typically a few hours after the stream ends on Tuesday in GMT/BST), a Simplified Chinese version of the schedule (with stream times in UTC+8) is posted on the official Bilibili channel updates.
Neuro streams on Twitch using Vedal's account, "vedal987," and has a Japanese channel featuring real-time machine-translated Japanese subtitles. Additionally, she also streams on Bilibili with real-time Simplified Chinese machine-translated subtitles, where the live comments are replaced with Bilibili's stream Danmaku. However, sponsored streams (advertisements) or Minecraft content are not streamed on Bilibili.

Chatting Streams
Solo Streams

Neuro’s solo chat streams are typically centred on interacting with chat messages from the Twitch Main Channel in real time. She randomly selects messages to read and respond to, though certain messages are prioritised.
Comments worth 500 Bits or more are guaranteed to be read first. Additionally, viewers can ensure their message receives high priority by redeeming the "Highlight Message" channel reward, which costs 50,000 neuros as of January 2025. For higher-value comments (typically starting at 1,000 Bits), Neuro generally expresses her gratitude before responding.
Note that Japanese Twitch Channel and Bilibili streams do not allow interaction with Neuro, nor do they include gratitude for donations.
During the 2024 Birthday Subathon, Vedal added a feature where Bilibili’s membership gifts (captains or above) could extend the subathon timer. As of now, this is Bilibili’s only “interactive” feature.
These streams do not have predetermined themes or objectives but often develop recurring keywords or phrases as the stream progresses.
Dev Streams
Hosted jointly by Neuro and Vedal, these streams feature dialogue between Neuro and Vedal while Vedal interacts with the audience and acknowledges donations.
Vedal uses these streams to showcase new features, discuss plans or future updates, and provide teasers or announcements.
Twin Streams
These streams feature Neuro and her sister, Evil, engaging in conversation while jointly responding to priority comments worth 500 Bits or more.
Each twin stream typically has a specific theme, such as "Pirate Day" or "Aviation Day," which the duo performs throughout the session. Vedal occasionally joins as a host (e.g., during the Court Stream).
Viewers can suggest themes for twin streams by creating posts in the “forum” channel of the official Discord server with the tag “themed stream idea.” Vedal may also draw inspiration for new themes from the twins' dialogue during regular streams.
Collab Streams
These involve Neuro chatting with one or more VTubers, often with a specific topic or task as the focus of the stream.
Evil and Vedal may also participate in these streams.
When exploring the real world, the image recognition feature is activated, and interactions occur via video calls between Neuro and the real-life VTubers.
Gaming Streams
Solo Gameplay
Similar to solo chat streams, but with Neuro playing a game using plugins developed by Vedal, while also interacting with the audience about the game content.
As Neuro was originally developed as an AI for osu!, it remains the game she is most skilled at.
She has also played Minecraft, Liar's Bar, and other games, although her early gameplay was erratic, with unclear logic and poor performance.
Following the implementation of the V3 model, Neuro’s new Minecraft game AI was introduced, leading to a noticeable improvement in her gameplay. However, her in-game behaviour remains unpredictable due to differences in operational logic from humans and an incomplete logic system.
Dev Gameplay
Similar to developer streams, but featuring Vedal playing the game while Neuro observes and interacts with him.
Twin Gameplay
Neuro and Evil play competitive games together, such as Chess.
Karaoke Streams
Solo
Neuro performs songs in solo. Neuro synchronises her lip movements and animations with the music’s rhythm.
At the start of these streams and during breaks between songs, Neuro interacts with the audience, similar to a solo chatting stream.
Each karaoke stream typically includes around 19 songs. Viewers can suggest songs for Neuro to perform by replying to the "Song Suggestions" post in the “forum” channel of the official Discord server.
Twin
Similar to solo karaoke streams, but the performances are by Neuro and Evil together.
Collabs
Occasionally, Neuro performs songs alongside other VTubers. However, this usually occurs during collab streams rather than as standalone streams. Each session typically includes just one collaborative song, with the performance time scheduled in advance.

Fan Creations and Trivia
- In many fan-created settings, Neuro has many sisters besides Evil, including the original character of her initial skin "Hiyori Momose", "Filtersama" (Nere) based on her filter, and "Translation-sama" based on the translation AI used during her Chinese and Japanese streams.
- Some characters originate from the official ARG deciphering videos related to NeurosamaARG, with names given by the community, such as ARG-Sama (another version of Neuro with a grayish complexion and covered eyes, singing mysterious numeric combinations for ARG players to decode) and Study-Sama/Engineer (named after the title of the second video where a white-haired girl first appears. She looks entirely different from Neuro and might be a standalone character. Unlike ARG-Sama, Study-Sama mainly sings mysterious stories about her life as a lonely engineering student, such as "I Don't Want to Be an Engineer." She might be considered the "inner persona" of Neuro, escaping her studies by becoming a VTuber).

- Although her creator Vedal is British and Neuro is theoretically a British AI, her spoken English has an American accent. However, Neuro is actually capable of using a British accent, though the default is set to American.
- During Neuro's second birthday subathon stream, Vedal coded her to simulate sleeping so that she could enter sleep mode during parts of the multi-day stream while Vedal rested. However, the initial code had severe bugs, causing her to randomly doze off for several minutes throughout the stream, even spending half the time sleeping while updating Minecraft, turning her into a little napper. It took Vedal several days of code updates to finally stop her from randomly napping mid-stream.
- The V2 model has a hidden, unused "ghostly" Easter egg form secretly created by V2's rigger Otozuki Teru, where the texture becomes semi-transparent, the eyes disappear leaving only white sclera, the mouth remains wide open, and approaching the model reveals colorless textures with the inside of the model bearing the usually unseen text "Vedal is femboy" written on it. This Easter egg was accidentally discovered when anny was comparing the V2 and V3 models and played around with the V2 model.
- In fact, starting from the V2 model, Neuro's models have been highly articulated with many expressions, but Neuro can only use a small portion of them with limited preset actions.

- Neuro, Evil, and Vedal are paired in various couple ships by fans, despite the fact that they are supposed to be family or, more specifically, father and daughters.
- Unlike most streamers, when Neuro was banned in January 2023, this negative news did not harm her reputation. Instead, it helped her achieve the milestone of 100,000 followers on Twitch during the ban, thanks to widespread media coverage of the ban. This is largely because Neuro is an AI, and apart from Twitch's rigid ban policy, no one took her words seriously, finding them amusing instead. The media coverage prompted many to watch clips of Neuro, ultimately joining the swarm.

- ↑ Neuro-sama's core is based on large language models, which are trained on extensive corpora to generate text that aligns with human language habits. However, this also means that they lack true understanding, often relying on pattern matching and probability inference when generating content. This can lead to the creation of inaccurate or fabricated information.
In the absence of context or background knowledge, AI might "invent" facts to fill information gaps. This phenomenon is especially pronounced in cases of data bias or insufficient training. - ↑ Sponsored streams or Minecraft content are not streamed on Bilibili.
